1. What criminal offenses may apply to a cyber-bully?

“They may be charged with harassment, stalking or defamation – People who do defamation are liable to be sued and people who are charged with stalking can be fined up to $5,500 or 5 years imprisonment”

“If you are found guilty of cyber bulling you can be fined up to $5 500 or imprisoned for up to five years. A person who has been cyber bullied can also sue the other person.”

Exposing that person to ridicule or causing other people to avoid them, it may amount to defamation. A person who has been defamed may be able to sue the other person.”

“You should always go to the police if you are cyber-bullied and ask for help because it can always increase. If it is really bad, then people can be sentenced to prison.”
